The tapestry of images presented on Mustafa’s pages was captured by Olgaç Bozalp during his travels across fourteen South West Asian and North African nations between 2016 and 2026. 

As well as conveying soulful, honest reflections of individuals, landscapes and scenes encountered upon these many trips; through Mustafa, Bozalp offers viewers a glance at the personal and artistic journey of discovery that unfolded internally over the decade.

This voyage, ignited and deepened by countless moments of connection with fellow SWANA citizens, eventually saw Olgaç embrace his once-discomfiting, given, middle name – Mustafa – as a chosen emblem of his self-hood.

It’s this entire self – Mustafa-Olgaç – that imbues this photographic journal with palpable curiosity and ease; that captures subjects, living and man-made, with an expansive yet personal conceptualisation of the beauty extant beyond the western gaze.
